Jenson's First "Motocross" Hill!

Jenson went down his first "big" hill on his dirt bike! We were at his Great Aunt Melissa's house and was riding on their "BIG" track and decided he wanted to go down the hill! Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of him going up the hill, it was just as steep as the trip down the hill. Going up the hill is where Jenson did his first wheelie...by mistake, but still scared me half to death when all I saw was a tire up in the air at the top of the hill!! Anyway...good thing Cameron was there to help him out!!

Monkey Joe's Take Two!

Jenson went a birthday party today for his "Best Dude" Nolan! Jenson and Nolan have been the best of friends since they were just months old. When Jenson finished at The Goddard School this May he had to tell many of his best friends goodbye. It was such a bittersweet moment for me. So excited for his next chapter to begin at St. Louis de Montfort, but sad to leave such wonderful friends and teachers. Jenson was so excited when he found out he was going to see Nolan at his party. He knew the party was at the end of July and was so excited when today finally got here!! The boys have not seen each since May! When they saw each other they were so excited!!!
So the last time we were at a party at Monkey Joe's for a party, Jenson didn't like it one bit. Today was a DIFFERENT story!! He had a ball!! He loved climbing, sliding, and jumping!

Then Jenson found the slickest slide and crashed!

Jenson thought this slide was really fast because the speed made his hair fly all over his face!!

Then it was time for cake, but we had to take a time out because Jenson got a bloody nose!! The kids had to sing happy birthday upside down, but Jenson wasn't sure because of his nose...he was awfully worried but did just fine.

Summertime Fun!!

What's better then playing in a sprinkler on a hot summer day....a slip n' slide!!!! Jenson and his friends had a fun afternoon playing on Jake's slip n' slide. Cam was basically laying at the bottom of the slip n' slide and got some great action shots!

This year our Cul-de-Sac had the annual 4th of July party. It was a lot of fun!! Jenson was hanging with his best buds...Jake and Ian. (Or as he calls them..."his kids"!) After we ate and it got dark, the fireworks show began! All the kids had a great time!!

I FINALLY got Jenson signed up for T-Ball! It was a challenge, but Jenson plays at Fishers YMCA. He is a member of the Dodgers and is number 2. (That's also his soccer number!)
Jenson played against 3 other teams - the Cubs, the Pirates, and the Reds. These games were great!! They were so fun to watch. Jenson's favorite part (besides batting) was sliding! He slid for everything, but so did everyone else!! It was way to cute to watch!!

These were at his first practice. The coaches had a clinic to teach the basics of the game.

Annual Mother's Day Garage Sale

For the past several years, the wonderful women in my family gather items we no longer need and sell them in Lindsey's garage. This is such a special time for us. Over the years we have remembered those dear women in our family who we have lost, retell favorite stories, and, celebrated the newest little ones in our family (Joey, Jenson, Jake, and Lorelei). This year, Josie, Joey, Jenson, and Jake (yes we have a lot of "J" names in our family) set up a booth at the garage sale and did quite well! Here are the pictures...

Birthday Parties, Kites, and More!

What a fun and BUSY day!! Jenson was invited to a friends birthday party at Bouncertown. We were a little hesitant to go because Monkey Joe was a no go!! He hated it!! BUT Jenson said he wanted to go so off we went. The party was at 9:00 am...pleasantly to our surprise that was an awesome time to have a party. The place was closed to the public and this allowed Jenson to conquer his fear of bounce houses!! We literally just threw him in!! He ended up loving it! We went on everything...even the BIG slide!! What a fun morning!!

Once we got home we played outside and it was time to fly a kite! The neighbors had theirs out and so did we...3 kites flying in our cul-de-sac! Unfortuately I didn't have our camera out...I was too busy flying a kite! :) After flying our kite, Jenson decided to work on his golf swing. Daddy helped him line up his shot. I will have pictures to come of that. Finally Jenson took a quick nap and then it was off to another birthday party in Plainfield for Cam's grandmother. What a BUSY day!

Babysitting BB

My parents were going on a weekend motorcycle ride to French Lick and we got to babysit BB. Jenson was thrilled that she was at our house for 3 nights!! Thursday when Jenson got home from school BB was waiting for him. He was so excited and took her upstairs to his toy room. They immediately went into his tent and the conversation from Jenson was hilarious!! He said, "OK Bster...this is where everything is..." and he literally was giving her where she could find cool stuff to play with. They came downstairs and he said BB was his buddy. She slept with him while she was here and the last night in his bed...he was thrilled!!

BB was my grandfather's dog. He had to be smiling down from heaven when he saw these two buddies together!

Easter

The night before Easter, Jenson was getting his treats ready for the Easter Bunny. He decided he wanted to write the Easter Bunny a note and start out with Happy Birthday!! :) Anyway, also wanted to leave a present for the Easter Bunny and he picked a travel magazine. I guess he thought when the big bunny was done with his job, he could take a vacation! Along with his note and magazine we left a carrot and lettuce.

Then it was time for bed. When Jenson woke up the next moring he found his present from the Easter Bunny...a new BIKE!! He was so excited. He also got a matching helmet. The bunny knows how you have to have all your accessories match!! Jenson rode circles through our house and then it was time to venture outside.

Daddy had to get the helmet adjustments just right!

We hosted our family Easter lunch. Once lunch was finished, it was time for the Easter Egg Hunt!

The day ended up being a beautiful day!!! Jenson and Cameron ended the evening with their first bike ride together on seperate bikes. Jenson is getting to be such a big boy!! It is hard to believe that 5 years ago this Easter we found out we were being blessed with him. Happy Easter!!

Spring Break 2010 WooHoo!!

This year for spring break we went to French Lick. We stayed at the French Lick Resort and spent 2 days at Big Splash waterpark. On our way down to French Lick we decided to stop at IU and eat lunch at Mother Bear's Pizza. That was one of our favorite places to eat when I was at IU. We had a great lunch and then ventured to TIS to buy some new IU gear. Ended up buying a Cutter shirt...Little 5 is almost here!! :)

After we left IU we headed to French Lick. Once we got to the hotel we went right away to the water park to swim. Unfortunately we don't have any water park pictures because we didn't want to take our camera with us. Jenson had a ball! We then headed back to our hotel and decided to take Jenson bowing for the first time. He loved it!! At first we wanted to use the ramp, but then decided he was too big for it. Jenson got his first strike without using the ramp or bumpers! He was SO excited. His score was 71 on his first game.

After bowing we got ice cream and then decided to call it a night. Next day we decided to go to West Baden to check out that hotel and Jenson and I played chess for the first time.

After our West Baden adventure we decided to spend the rest of the day at the Big Splash water park. Jenson ended up going down all the slides he was able to go on and LOVED it!! After we went back to the hotel Jenson and Cameron went to the arcade and then to the indoor karting track...I stayed back and tried to buy new shoes (craps). :) Then it was time to go home...before we left Jenson wanted to bowl again. He loved the shoes!!

Finally it was time to head home. We had a great time!! We had only been home for a little bit when Jenson asked, "When are we going on cation again?".

2010 Supercross

OK...so this is not in correct order with dates. Cameron, Jenson, Dave, and myself went to this year's supercross at Lucas Oil Stadium at the end of February. Jenson was so excited! He wore his Fox jersey so he could represent!! :) We went just for the practice that afternoon. We sat at every big jump so Jenson could get up close and personal to all the action. Jenson still swears that is what he is going to do one day!! What a wild ride that will be for me!! :) Jenson decided he like the kawasaki bikes the best...great since we just got him a yamaha!! :) Oh well! Jenson was so engaged watching until he finally fell asleep. It was so loud, but he was so relaxed and fell sound asleep. "Unkie Dave" and I got a picture with him right before he fell completely asleep. We finally decided to head home and watch the main event on TV and I think Ryan Villopoto won. We were cheering for Dungy...oh well until next year!

Monkey Joe a No Go!!

March 6th Jenson was invited to go to a friend birthday party at Monkey Joe's. It was for his friend Evan and was SO excited to go. Even when we got there he was so excited to see all the bounce houses...then pure fear set in!! He was absolutely petrified to get in ANY bounce house. I even tried sneaking him in the baby bounce house, but got in trouble and still Jenson wouldn't have any part of that! When more of Jenson's friends showed up (especially Jack who is in the picture with him)he had fun running and chasing them but would not get into the bounce houses. Looking back on my childhood experiences, I hated bounce houses too! I got stuck in the crack of one and the only thing you could see was one of my legs and one of my arms. My dad had to come in and rescue me as I was screaming bloody murder! I guess I know where he gets it from. :) Oh well...I guess we can mark Monkey Joe's off our things to do this summer. :) All in all Jenson had fun, but he made his own kind of fun.

Day 3 - Goofy's Breakfast and Animal Kingdom

We started the day out with reservations for Goofy's Breakfast Buffet. We had to take the water taxi to the restaurant. While we were eating our Mickey Waffles we got to hang with the characters again! Jenson's favorite, Donald, sat at our table and colored with him. He was so excited!!

We then made our way to the Animal Kingdom. The first thing we did was the safari. This was really cool. Because it was cooler and drizzled all day we saw lots of animals.

Then we found more characters!

We then ventured to Dinoland! Jenson had a lot of fun here.

We found the Dino Dig and had a ball! There were dino foot prints that you stepped on to make dinosuars roar!

It started to rain a little harder so we decided to into the Tree of Life to watch a Bugs Life. This was so fun! The bugs would spit on you, poke you in the back, and even run under your seats!

Then we found more characters...imagine that!

We finsihed the evening at Downtown Disney and ate at the T-Rex...this was awesome. Unfortunately we didn't have our camera with us. We ate in an ice cave and at the end of our meal Jnson made his own veloceraptor! It was then time for bed as we had an early pick up time to go to the airport.

As we were leaving on the Magical Bus Jenson yells out, "Goodbye Disney World! See you next time!"

Day 2 - Hollywood Studios

On day 2 we headed to Hollywood Studios. While we were there we saw lots of cool movie stuff! We saw the cave with Azlan from Narnia, Toy Story, Monsters inc., behind the scenes of a movie lot, Indiana Jones Stunt show, a water show, and finally a really cool car and motorcycle stunt show (which Jenson fell asleep)! Jenson loves movies! It was really neat for him to see actually movie props and costumes from his favorite movies. (Like Davey Jone's Organ from the Pirates of the Caribbean!)

We then ended our evening with dinner at the Sci Fi Diner Drive in. It was really cool! When you walked in it was like you were on a set of a drive in movie. We sat in cars to eat our dinner while 50s sci fi movies played on the theater screen!

Disney Day 1 - Magic Kingdom

It was finally time for Jenson and I to get on the plane (by ourselves) to meet Cameron in Orlando. Cam was working at a trade show and met up with us much later that night...let's just say Jenson and I were already in bed! Jenson did GREAT on the plane!! He was really nervous and so was I since I hate to fly, but once we got up in the air he was just fine. Watching him also kept my mind distracted from me! :) Anyway once we landed we had to take the "magical bus" to our resort...All Star Movies. We were up early for our first official day in Disney and we were going to the Magic Kingdom! Jenson was so excited! Our first ride was the jungle cruise. Jenson's experience was just like mine when I first went on the ride. It scared him. He thought everything was real! So we then we went on something really low key...

You would think after all of that our day would be over...but it wasn't! We had 9:00 reservations at Chef Mickey. Jenson fell asleep on the monorail to the restaurant, but rallied around to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto! Cam hates the picture with Pluto, but I think it captures how exhausted we were!! :)

Santa Claus came to town!

Since Jenson's birthday things have been really busy and it is time to catch up. This year we decided to host Cam's family Christmas at our house. Cam and Jenson were super excited decorating for this! We decided to get our basement in order for the big event so we put Jenson to work!! "Unkie Dave" gave Jenson great painting pointers! Even though we decided we didn't like this color and redid the wall, Jenson did a great job!

Then it was time to go to the farm and have Christmas with Poppy and Gin! We had a great day celebrating Christmas with my family and then that evening we went to go see Alvin and the Chipmunks with baby Joey and Jake. The next morning Santa came early and stopped by the farm.

Then it was time to head back home and get ready for Santa to come to our house. Jenson was so excited when he saw that Santa had been at our house.

After Jenson had opened all his presents from Santa there was one more special gift from Mickey Mouse...a trip to Disney World!! He is SO excited!!

Then it was time for our third Christmas party with Cam's family.

Then Jenson FINALLY crashed in the basement while Daddy played the wii. What a WONDERFUL Christmas!!

Today was Jenson's 4th Birthday! Jenson was SO excited to go to the farm in his new gear that he thought was for the 4 wheeler...little did he know what was waiting in Poppy's "Bilo Barn". A few days ago, Cam and I took Jenson to Yamaha to get fitted for a new helmet, Fox racing pants, Fox racing Jersey, and Fox gloves. He loved them so much he wanted to sleep in them! Anyway...back to this morning...Jenson got dressed in his new gear and ready to head to Attica. Once we got to the farm, Jenson opened his presents from Poppy and Gin. There was one last box to open that had keys in it. Jenson knew the key was for the Bilo Barn and we went outside to investigate. Once Jenson got the key to unlock the door, he opened the door and to his surprise instead of Poppy's Harley was his very own dirt bike that looks just like daddy's!

It was time to roll the bike out and get ready to go!

Jenson's Birthday Party

We had Jenson's 4th birthday party at Recreation Unlimited on November 21. What a fun day. This was the first time I let Jenson pick out where he wanted his party and his theme. It took forever to pick the theme...we went back and forth from Batman to Spiderman to Transformers. The winner was BATMAN!! Jenson had been so excited for his party. He had a count down to the final day. Jenson had 19 friends and received wonderful presents. Here are just a few pictures thank you to Aunt Erin...there will be more to come.

Fall Fun with Neighbors

This is a picture of Jenson, Jake, and Ali (our neighbors) playing in the leaves on Sunday, November 8. What a beautful and busy day it was! Jenson and I went to Roncoli High school to watch SLDM play in the city championship game. Jenson was SO excited to go to his first football game, but boy was it hot!! Once we got home, Jenson played outside all afternoon with the cul-de-sac crew. What a fun day we had!

Jenson's Birthday Surpise!

This weekend Cam and I decided to go ahead and get Jenson his first dirt bike. As Cam said...what have we opened the door too?? :) Since Jenson could first speak, he has talked about motorcycles and lights up whenever he sees them. He can even tell you which Harley is a Fatboy, Sportster, Softail, etc. He even gave motorcycles his own word... "Bilos". We have no idea where he came up with this, but a few months ago he started to call them motorcycles...broke my heart. Every now and then he slips and calls them "Bilos". Jenson's Birthday is not until next month and it is going to be so hard to not tell him!! I think Cam and I are just as excited about this new adventure as Jenson will be!! Wish us luck!!

Stonycreek 2009

We went to Stonycreek for the second year in a row to pick out Jenson's pumpkin. This year was quite different from last year...last year, Jenson wasn't afraid of any of the inflatables and this year he wouldn't do them...too much wind blowing in his face! But we did all sorts of other things instead...

...of course there was the pumpkin train.

Jenson was SO excited to meet his new cousin Nolan when he finally arrived!! All through Aunt Erin's pregnancy he called him "Noodle Mac and Cheese"...he thought this was a good name since his best friend at school was already named Nolan. The night before Jenson met Nolan, he wanted to draw a picture for him. Cam and I were worried after seeing the picture...it looked like an evil dog. We thought that Jenson thought Nolan was a puppy!! So we were a little nervous for the two to meet. Jenson was really nervous around him the first time he saw him.

My First Blog Post

Today I decided to create a blog for my son Jenson. I got the idea from a friend who had hers published to give to hear kids instead of keeping a baby book. The baby book thing in theory started off great and then dwindled as I realized that being a mom was EXHAUSTING and any extra time I had to scrapbook, well, let's just say I would rather nap! It's been almost four years and the empty scrapbooks stay in the closet. So hopefully this will help me journal the day to day life of our family's journey. Wish me LUCK!
